Some weddings feel like they’re pulled straight from a storybook—not the over-the-top, glittery kind, but the grounded, heart-full kind. The kind with a ceremony in the woods, a horse-drawn carriage, and bug spray thoughtfully offered to every guest. My kind of fairytale.

Marcie and Jake’s wedding at Wedge’s Creek Hideaway was exactly that—tender, joy-filled, and beautifully rooted in who they are. This newer Central Wisconsin venue offered the perfect backdrop: rustic charm, quiet paths under towering trees, and a whole lot of room for love.

From the moment Marcie stepped into her practical-but-adorable shoes (a girl after my own heart), I knew the day would be full of intention and beauty. And it was—through and through.

They said “I do” surrounded by playful, loving, and steady family, the kind of support that wraps around you like a warm blanket. Their first look with their son was one of the sweetest I’ve ever witnessed—an unforgettable pause in the middle of all the celebration.

Every detail had a story. Marcie’s bouquet was stunning. Her ring? One-of-a-kind. The sunset? Showed up right on cue, golden and glowing. And as a fellow photographer, Marcie’s trust in me meant the world. It’s no small thing to be handed a day like this and asked to preserve it with heart.
