Family and Graduation Session | Marshfield, WI

Last week, I had the joy of photographing Kimberly and her two incredible kids, Abrie and Lucien. Abrie is graduating at the top of her class, with big dreams of studying psychology and becoming a crime scene investigator. And honestly? She’s got exactly what it takes—brains, heart, and so much presence.

From the very beginning, Kimberly encouraged her kids to just be themselves—and they totally nailed it. It was relaxed and fun, because this family has this natural way of teasing, laughing, and hyping each other up. There were perfectly timed tickles, inside jokes, and real, belly laughs that made the whole session glow.

Lucien was the sweetest mix of confident, funny, and kind-hearted. He was pure sunshine. And when Abrie talked about heading off to college, he just held on to her like he wasn’t ready to let go. You could literally see how much he loves his sister. Abrie, meanwhile, was thoughtful and patient, cheering on her family like a true teammate. This family shows up for one another with so much love.

Most of the morning was rainy, but by the time we started shooting, the clouds softened to give us this beautifully moody light—the kind of soft, rich tones that make every photo feel timeless. It felt like the perfect vibe for this moment they’re in, where everything’s shifting and growing.

Kimberly and Abrie proudly showed me their matching rose tattoos. They were gorgeous and meant so much.

I’m so thankful Kimberly and her family trusted me to capture this part of their story, even though they’re only in town for a short time.

Sessions like this are why I do what I do. It’s not just photography—it’s about connection, legacy, and those small, beautiful moments that shape who we’re becoming.
